Complex rescue needed in two-car accident in Lakewood: West Metro Fire Rescue
A passenger in a sedan was trapped following a collision at an intersection in Lakewood, prompting firefighters to carefully remove the vehicle's roof to extricate them. The accident, involving a delivery truck and a four-door Honda sedan, occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of West Exposition and South Lee Court. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, while both occupants of the sedan were injured, with the driver sustaining minor injuries and the passenger in critical condition while trapped in the vehicle. West Metro Fire Rescue stated that while it is uncommon to have to remove a car's roof for extrication, the extent of the vehicle's damage necessitated this action to safely rescue the occupants.
