Community supports family of 4-year-old boy killed in car accident in Phoenix

The Phoenix community has rallied around a grieving family following the tragic loss of 4-year-old Miguel Dominguez, who was tragically struck and killed by a car while crossing the road at McDowell Road and 36th Street earlier this week. To help cover funeral expenses, a car wash fundraiser was organized in the parking lot of Miguel's preschool, drawing teachers, parents, and locals together in remembrance of Miguel and to offer support to his family. Eileen Buckley, Miguel's preschool teacher, shared her heartfelt memories of him, describing him as a cheerful child who was starting to come out of his shell. A memorial now stands at the intersection where the accident occurred in honor of Miguel's memory. The fundraiser was led by Buckley, parents, and community members who wanted to assist Miguel's mother with the financial burden of the funeral. Others, like Tamir Fears, who has children that were classmates of Miguel, emphasized the need for increased driver vigilance and to avoid distractions while on the road. Donations can be made in person at Magic Star Pre School on Oak and 36th Street for those still wishing to support the family. The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene, and there have been no charges filed as the investigation continues.
