Community supports Back Porch BBQ post-boat incident

In Bay County, Florida, last Wednesday, the owners of the Back Porch BBQ food boat, Mike and Carol McAdam, faced a distressing situation when their floating restaurant capsized during a thunderstorm in Upper Grand Lagoon. Despite the chaos, Carol maintained her composure even when a refrigerator fell on her. Thanks to the swift response of the Coast Guard and some onlookers, the couple, who sustained minor injuries, were rescued. The community rallied around the McAdams, offering support and assistance. A local pub owner, Raymond Adkinson, recounted how the McAdams had supported him when he was starting his business, and now he, along with the St. Andrews community, organized a fundraiser at the pub to help the Back Porch BBQ get back on the water. With this generous support, the McAdams aim to have their boat operational again by the following Friday.
