Community honors two teenagers who died in a car crash
In West Mobile, Alabama, a balloon release ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon to remember and pay tribute to two teenagers who lost their lives tragically after being hit by a car while walking on Airport Boulevard near Trailwood Boulevard. The teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were struck in the early hours of July 2 by an SUV. During the gathering at the crash site, family and friends recounted memories and mourned the loss of the two young lives. Reflecting on the impact the teenagers had on those around them, friend Dre Austin expressed the profound loss felt by many due to this tragedy. Another friend, Kayleigh Pettaway, fondly recalled the joyful moments shared with one of the teenagers and emphasized the irreplaceable bond they had. The incident occurred as one of the teenagers was staying over at their friend's house in the Trailwood neighborhood, and they were on their way to a nearby store when the accident took place. The driver involved was identified as 36-year-old Elizabeth Nicole Coker Taylor by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The family members of the teenagers are still seeking answers and have expressed frustration over the lack of information provided by authorities regarding that fateful night. Currently, no charges have been filed against Taylor.
