
Community grieves 5-year-old Granbury student following heartbreaking school bus incident
Granbury Independent School District families have experienced a deeply emotional period recently. Tragedy struck on Monday when a school bus accident resulted in the death of a five-year-old boy. A candlelight vigil was organized at Hewlett Park to honor the memory of the young victim, named Exodus Crockett, who had a special fondness for Spider-Man. Attendees, including his fellow students from Emma Roberson Early Learning Academy, paid tribute to him by wearing Spider-Man-themed attire. Organizer Lacee Share Westland emphasized the community's spirit of compassion and the vigil's intention to celebrate the boy's joyful nature. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred early Monday morning while students were being picked up on Pecos River Drive. Tragically, Crockett was struck by the bus and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Pastor Beau Mills, representing the Beau Bear Organization, shared that he is providing support to Crockett's grieving father, highlighting the profound sorrow and devastation caused by the loss. Despite the pain, he expressed belief in the possibility of finding hope, peace, and eventual goodness through this tragedy. The young boy's funeral is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m.
