
Collision in Pune: A dozen individuals, including MPSC learners, hurt as fast-moving vehicle strikes pedestrians in Sadashiv Peth
A tragic road accident occurred in Pune city when a car crashed into a group of people, injuring 12 individuals, including students preparing for the MPSC exams. The victims were standing near a tea stall in Sadashiv Peth area when the incident took place on Saturday evening. Several victims sustained severe leg injuries and were promptly taken to Sancheti and Modak hospitals for medical treatment. The car driver, believed to be intoxicated, was arrested along with another individual, and their tests are being conducted to confirm their condition. The driver reportedly hit multiple vehicles and pedestrians before colliding with the tea stall, as revealed by Senior Inspector Vijaymala Pawar of Vishrambag police station. This unfortunate event follows a recent incident where a motorcycle rider lost their life in a collision with a speeding Mercedes on the Pune–Bengaluru highway. All four occupants of the car, including the driver, were intoxicated during the accident, leading to arrests and legal actions under relevant statutes.
