Collision in Escondido claims life of 23-year-old motorcyclist
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 23-year-old motorcyclist died Friday afternoon after being involved in a traffic collision with a pickup truck in Escondido, according to Escondido Police. The collision occurred around 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Daisy Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found the motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man, suffering from critical injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to law enforcement. Alcohol and drugs reportedly do not appear to be factors. The identity of the man is being withheld until his next of kin is notified. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
