College linebacker in fatal crash killing 3, including 2 children

A University of Miami star athlete, Adarius Hayes, was in a tragic accident over the weekend in Largo, Florida. The crash, involving two vehicles, resulted in the loss of three lives, including two children. Hayes, a linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, was driving a Dodge Durango when he collided with a Kia making a left turn, killing 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, as well as 78-year-old Gail Price. The front passenger of the Kia, 58-year-old Herbert Rivera, was seriously injured, while Hayes suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol and drugs do not seem to have played a role in the accident according to investigators, who are still determining the exact cause. The Largo Police Department has not pressed criminal charges. Hayes, known as one of the nation’s top linebackers, had received offers from prominent schools before choosing UM.
