Closure at Orchard Road on I-25 South due to severe multi-vehicle collision
Southbound lanes of Interstate 25 are currently closed at Orchard Road in Greenwood Village due to a serious multi-vehicle accident. South Metro Fire Rescue reported the crash around 6:52 p.m., with six patients already transported to local hospitals by 7:38 p.m. The agency is assisting Greenwood Village police in investigating the crash at Arapahoe Road in the southbound lanes. A hazmat team is addressing a fuel leak from one of the vehicles. Traffic congestion stretches back to I-225 near the Denver Tech Center for about three miles. In addition, SMFR and the Colorado State Patrol are addressing a commercial vehicle fire on northbound I-25 near Arapahoe Road. The fire is contained, but the far right lanes are blocked.
