Child on bike dies following multiple vehicle collision in Holly Springs, as stated by authorities
Tragic news out of Holly Springs, N.C., as a child has lost their life after being struck by a car while riding a bike early on Sunday. The Holly Springs Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Avent Ferry Road near Holly Meadow Drive. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a multi-vehicle crash involving a 2008 Honda Civic, a 2021 Honda Passport, and the young bicyclist. The driver of the Civic and a passenger in the Passport were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the child on the bike was declared deceased at the scene. Avent Ferry Road was shut down in both directions for a period on Sunday morning to allow investigators to conduct their work, but has since reopened.
