Child killed in multiple vehicle collision in Upstate, according to coroner.
A child tragically lost his life in a multi-vehicle accident in Piedmont over the weekend, as reported by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Augusta Road and Matrix Parkway. The collision involved an SUV making a left turn onto Matrix Parkway, which was struck by a truck. This initial impact led to further collisions involving another SUV and a car on Matrix Parkway. The deceased child, identified as 7-year-old Caius Blakely from Woodruff, was seated in the back of a Jeep that was part of the accident. Despite efforts at the hospital, the child was pronounced dead.
