Child injured in Chandler Loop 202 collision.
An 8-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries in a multi-car collision on an East Valley freeway on May 8th. The incident occurred on the eastbound Loop 202 Santan at Kyrene Road. As reported by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash involved four vehicles, and emergency responders had to extract the girl from one of the vehicles. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported, but the eastbound lanes had to be closed while the incident was being addressed. The westbound lanes remained unaffected. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the Arizona Department of Transportation has not provided an exact timeline for when the eastbound lanes will reopen.
