Child in critical condition after two-car accident in Waterford Township

Four people were hurt, with a 10-year-old child in critical condition, following a collision on Wednesday in Oakland County, Michigan. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the Highland Road and Cass Lake Road intersection, according to the Waterford Township Police Department. Emergency services from the Waterford Regional Fire also arrived at the scene. Initial findings indicated that a 19-year-old resident was driving a Ford Escape southbound on Cass Lake Road when a silver Jaguar X-Type car, heading north and attempting to turn west on Highland Road, disregarded a red light and the two vehicles crashed. The Jaguar driver and the three occupants of the Ford Escape sustained injuries of varying degrees, with the Jaguar driver and two passengers in the Ford Escape admitted to the hospital for treatment.
