Child fatally hit by car in St. Charles, no charges filed
Authorities in Kane County have stated that no legal action will be taken regarding the tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 5-year-old boy in St. Charles recently. The child was fatally hit by a vehicle in a driveway on Royal Fox Drive, and despite efforts to revive him, he passed away at the hospital. After conducting a detailed investigation, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser and St. Charles Deputy Police Chief Rich Clark revealed that no charges will be pressed as the incident was deemed not to be a result of criminal behavior, recklessness, or negligence. State’s Attorney Mosser expressed sympathy for the family and community affected by the accident and commended the police department for their diligent work. The driver of the vehicle was confirmed to be a family member, but their identity remains undisclosed.
