Child dies in Sallisaw church bus crash, another person in critical condition
SALLISAW, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — A child is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Sallisaw that left another person critically injured on Wednesday night, according to the Sallisaw Police Department. SPD said in a news release that the crash occurred near the intersection of Iola Avenue and Walnut Street and involved a church van and an SUV. The department said a juvenile passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of one of the vehicles is in critical condition and is receiving medical treatment, according to the release. SPD said it is investigating the crash along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
