Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation following a Dallas car crash. The Dallas County District Attorney's Office reported that Rice pleaded guilty to charges related to the collision, which included serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily harm. He also agreed to pay $115,481.92 in restitution. Rice expressed remorse for the harm caused by his actions and emphasized the importance of driving safely in a statement. The crash occurred in March 2024 on US-75 in Dallas, involving Rice and another individual, Theodore "Teddy" Knox from Southern Methodist University's football team, both driving at excessive speeds. The incident resulted in a series of collisions, leading to multiple lawsuits by victims. The circumstances surrounding Rice's jail term and scheduling are still pending, with the Chiefs' training camp set to start in July 2024.
