
Chicago man faces charges for DUI and reckless driving in deadly Rockford collision
A woman from the Chicago area has been charged with reckless homicide and driving under the influence following a crash in Rockford that led to the death of a 25-year-old woman early Sunday morning. Rockford Police reported that a car carrying three people crashed into a wall at the roundabout on Kishwaukee Street and Airport Drive around 2:42 a.m. Unfortunately, the victim, who was sitting in the back seat, passed away later at a local hospital. Alazia Hatchett, 30, from Orland Hills, is facing criminal charges including aggravated DUI causing death and reckless homicide in connection to the incident.
