UPDATE 7:37 a.m.: Traffic has resumed on East Chestnut near US Highway 65 after an accident was reported. Originally thought to be an injury accident, it has now been confirmed as a non-injury crash. Springfield Police are managing traffic flow following the incident near East Chestnut Expressway. Police have closed lanes on Eastbound Chestnut Expressway and are redirecting traffic to Southbound Highway 65. For those heading west on Chestnut Expressway, they are also being directed to Southbound Highway 65. Those exiting Northbound on Highway 65 to Chestnut Expressway are being rerouted back to Southbound Highway 65. Meanwhile, Southbound drivers on Highway 65 that exit onto Chestnut are permitted to head westbound. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
