Cherokee County student recovers from severe lake incident
A Woodstock High School senior and football player, Blake Jensen, is receiving support from his Cherokee County community as he recuperates from severe injuries sustained in a fall in July. Jensen's injuries include skull and back fractures, internal bleeding, a torn spleen, kidney damage, and cracked ribs. He was airlifted to Kennestone Hospital, underwent emergency surgery, and spent time in the ICU. Although Jensen has been discharged from the hospital, his recovery is ongoing, and he has missed the beginning of the school year. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist the Jensen family with rising medical costs as Blake progresses in his recovery journey.
