Charges filed in deadly University City crash
A man in St. Louis County has been charged after a fatal crash in University City that occurred last weekend. Reports suggest that Logan Spies, aged 29, is accused of running a red light on Forest Park Parkway at a high speed around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, resulting in a collision with another vehicle on Big Bend Boulevard. The impact caused the victim's car to overturn and catch on fire, leading to the victim's death after being taken to the hospital. Spies, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, is facing charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and is currently held on a $200,000 cash-only bond.
