Charges filed against man for deadly motorcycle crash and hospital escape.

A man accused of causing a deadly motorcycle accident and then eluding authorities while receiving medical care at Garden City Hospital is now facing multiple charges. Antonio Dewayne Hollingsworth, a Wayne resident aged 47, was formally charged on Monday. The charges against him include causing death through a moving violation, escaping lawful custody, driving with a suspended license, and possessing a small amount of a controlled substance related to the incident. According to officials, Hollingsworth failed to give right of way while leaving a parking lot near Inkster Road and Lucerne Street in Inkster on September 2, striking and fatally injuring Nicholas Cogswell, 44, of Garden City. Cogswell succumbed to his head injury at a hospital. Hollingsworth was apprehended and taken to Garden City Hospital by police two days later due to chest pain complaints. However, he managed to escape, prompting a search until he was apprehended later that day near Ford and Inkster roads in Garden City. Hollingsworth's bail was established at $100,000 with a 10% option. He is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause conference on September 17.
