
Charges filed against Kearns man for attempting to leave scene of deadly accident
A Kearns individual has been charged by the police following a fatal three-car collision in West Valley City. Osvaldo Chavez Segovia, age 20, has been accused of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in a death and failing to stop at a serious injury accident. He also faces charges of obstruction of justice, making a false statement, and not having a driver's license. The incident occurred on the Bacchus Highway, resulting in the death of Madison Wagner and critical injuries to her boyfriend. Despite attempts to provide false information, investigators determined that Segovia was the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado involved in the crash. Another driver and an additional passenger also tried to walk away from the scene but were tracked down by a police K-9. Ultimately, Segovia was arrested after providing a false witness statement and it was discovered he does not have a driver's license. No other individuals have been charged in connection with the incident thus far.
