
Charges Filed Against Ex-Ohio State Football Player for Fatal Crash
A former Ohio State football player is set to make his first court appearance on Monday after being charged in connection with a fatal accident. Kirk Barton, 40, faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and other offenses following a collision in Dublin, Ohio. According to police reports, Barton was driving at a high speed on U.S. 33 around 3 a.m. on Saturday when he entered the town driving on the wrong side of the road, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, 24-year-old Ethan Perry, tragically lost his life in the crash. Barton, who played football at OSU from 2003 to 2007 and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2008, has a history of traffic-related offenses according to court records. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
