CEO of LendingTree, Doug Lebda, dies in ATV crash

LendingTree experienced a tragic incident on a family farm in North Carolina, resulting in the unexpected passing of its founder, Doug Lebda. In response, the company expressed profound sorrow at the loss of Lebda, recognizing his remarkable impact as a visionary leader in the financial services sector. Following his untimely death, the Chief Operating Officer, Scott Peyree, was appointed as the new CEO, with Steve Ozonian, the lead independent director, stepping into the role of chairman. Shares of the Charlotte-based company dipped over 4% in Monday's trading. Lebda established LendingTree in 1996 after facing challenges securing a mortgage, and the company has since evolved into a key online platform for comparing financial products. In addition to LendingTree, Lebda co-founded Tykoon, a financial education platform. Remembered by his wife, Megan, and three daughters, Lebda is celebrated for his kindness and boundless generosity. Megan expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support received following his passing.
