Cause of Fatal Crash Near Henry's Lake Blamed on Dodge Ram Pickup
Authorities are investigating the tragic collision that occurred on Highway 20 near Henry's Lake on May 1, 2025, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals. The Idaho State Police (ISP) determined that the Dodge Ram Pickup was responsible for the accident after crossing the center line and colliding with an eastbound Mercedes passenger van, causing a fatal collision that claimed the lives of both drivers and five passengers. This van was carrying a total of 14 individuals, including a group of 12 from China and one from Italy, with the driver holding a California license. The group was en route to Yellowstone National Park. In response to the involvement of a commercial vehicle and the severity of the incident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched their own comprehensive investigation, with their personnel already on-site and examining evidence. While both the ISP and NTSB are sharing information, they are each conducting independent inquiries into the matter.
