Car on I-220 shot at, crashes; occupants survive, suspect at large
Jackson police are looking into a car crash on Interstate 220 that the people in the car claim was due to someone shooting at them. Authorities were alerted around 5:10 p.m. on July 22 to I-220, close to Medgar Evers Boulevard, where a black Nissan Sentra had overturned into a ditch. The Nissan driver and two passengers were hospitalized. Detective Tommie Brown stated in a press release that the three individuals told officers that an unknown person or people shot at their car, leading to the accident.
