Car crashes onto Metro tracks near Dunn Loring-Merrifield station; person hurt
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Medics took someone to the hospital after a car left the roadway and crashed onto Metro tracks Wednesday morning. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Service said crews found the car after a report of a single-vehicle crash on neighboring Interstate 66 westbound, prior to the Cedar Lane Overpass, just minutes before 11:30 a.m. The person who was hurt had injuries that were not considered life-threatening. As a result of the crash, I-66 westbound HOV lanes were shut down and Orange Line trains between West Falls Church and Dunn Loring were not running.
