A driver in Brockton, Massachusetts will receive a citation following an incident where their car crashed through the front of a smoke shop on Sunday night. The accident occurred at the Go Smoke Shop on Belmont Street within a strip mall. The 43-year-old female driver claimed her brakes failed, causing her Subaru to collide with the smoke shop, damaging displays and narrowly missing the back room. A customer sustained a leg injury that required over 40 stitches and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, an employee inside was unharmed. Witnesses described the chaotic scene of shattered glass and debris following the crash. The driver, who escaped injury, will be cited for driving without a license. Firefighters secured the building and the vehicle was removed later that evening. Despite the incident, the store owners aim to reopen in a couple of weeks. This incident marked the end of a busy Sunday in Brockton, with earlier reports of a 14-year-old boy being shot and wounded, as well as a 19-year-old man sustaining a gunshot wound at the MBTA Montello Station parking lot in separate incidents. Authorities have stated there is no evidence to link the two shootings. Brockton is situated approximately 25 miles south of Boston in Plymouth County.
