Car crashes into East Hollywood club, injuring many; driver shot
Over the weekend, a disturbing incident occurred in East Hollywood when a vehicle drove into a crowd outside the Vermont Hollywood Nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez, intentionally targeted the people waiting to enter the club. The incident left over 30 individuals injured, with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Most of those waiting in line were women, and the driver also hit a taco truck and valet stand. Following the crash, bystanders took action against Ramirez, leading to a further violent altercation where he was shot in the lower back by an unknown assailant who then fled the scene. Ramirez was subsequently arrested by law enforcement officials. The LAPD has released a description of the suspect who shot Ramirez, indicating that he was wearing distinct clothing. The Vermont Hollywood Nightclub was hosting a reggae/hip-hop event during the incident.
