Car crashes into Billy Corgan’s Highland Park tea shop

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (WGN) — No injuries were reported on Tuesday after a car crashed into a Highland Park tea shop owned by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. The crash occurred at Madame Zuzu’s in the 1800 block of First Street in Downtown Highland Park. It is unclear exactly when the crash unfolded exactly, but Corgan’s wife, Chloe Mendel Corgan, referred to it as “an honest accident and added that no injuries were reported. Mendel Corgan said the crash caused "some exterior damage.” SkyCam9 was over the scene around 4:15 p.m., but the car involved had already been moved from the scene. From overhead, some slight damage could be seen to the building's facade, though it does not appear the crash caused a significant amount of damage. Currently, it is unclear what caused the crash. It is the second time a car has slammed into the tea shop in the last year. Back in October last year, at least one person was injured when a car crashed into the shop. During that incident, Mendel Corgan's mother and son were inside the shop at the time and her mother suffered an injury while her son narrowly escaped injury.
