
Car crash on I-880 near 16th Avenue in Oakland
A collision between two vehicles led to delays on southbound Interstate 880 near the 16th Avenue off-ramp in Oakland. The incident occurred on Thursday morning and initially involved a silver sedan and a black sedan. Additional updates mentioned the possible involvement of a gray sedan, a gray SUV, and a dark-colored SUV. One of the vehicles hit the right-hand shoulder barrier and ended up partially blocking the slow lane in the opposite direction. The California Highway Patrol received the first report of the crash at around 7:33 a.m. where one individual was found inside a vehicle. By 7:55 a.m., officers requested medical aid for a minor injury. The incident was officially labeled as a minor-injury crash at 8:15 a.m. A Toyota 4Runner with front-end damage required towing, and SandF Towing was called to the site. Emergency teams worked to clear the vehicles from the traffic lanes. Freeway Service Patrol assisted with traffic control and completed their response by 8:17 a.m. Fortunately, there were no major injuries reported, and all lanes were eventually reopened.
