Car crash near Diamond kills Pierce City child
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A child from Pierce City died on Monday evening after a car crash occurred east of Diamond, Missouri. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 55-year-old man was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer failed to yield on Highway J, three miles east of Diamond. The man struck a 2003 Ford F250, carrying two adults and two children. According to the report, the 6-year-old child was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin has been notified has been notified of the child's passing. This is Troop D's 31st fatality of 2025.
