Car crash in Hopewell leads to injuries, driver airlifted
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The driver of a vehicle that crashed into another car in the town of Hopewell was airlifted to the hospital for injuries, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said the crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Route 5&20 and County Road 47. First responders immediately started medically assisting one of the impacted drivers. Once the emergency squad arrived, they discovered the driver that crashed into the other car had a broken leg as well as internal injuries and was airlifted to Strong Hospital for treatment. The driver of the impacted vehicle was checked on scene by EMS and suffered minor abrasions. Investigators say the driver that crashed into the other car was following it too closely and struck the car while it was making a left turn. That driver was issued a citation. New York State Police also responded to the scene.
