
Car bounces off roof of house, crashes into RV in East County
LA MESA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities are searching for a driver who crashed their car through a fence and into a parked RV in La Mesa on Thursday morning. According to the La Mesa Police Department, the incident took place around 12:30 a.m. at Pasadena Avenue near Spring Street. Police reported that the vehicle blew through a fence, then bounced off the roof of a home before slamming into the backend of an RV, destroying much of the inside. The owner of the RV said he and his wife were asleep inside their home when the crash happened. When he went to look for the driver, the man said they had already fled the scene. FOX 5/KUSI spoke with the couple, who said they could have been killed during the incident. A gapping hole from the impact was located directly above their bedroom. The RV owner recounted the experience, which can be seen in the video below: Authorities have since removed both the car and RV from the area. They are still searching for the driver but have not provided suspect information at this time. An investigation remains ongoing.
