Car accident on Lake Road results in two fatalities in Oneida
As of 2:00 p.m. on August 8, the Oneida Police Department reported on their Facebook page that a single vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree in a wooded area. The vehicle caught fire with the occupants trapped inside. Nearby construction workers witnessed the accident, rushed to help, and tried to put out the fire before emergency teams arrived. Despite their efforts and those of first responders, the two occupants, identified as Beckyjo A. Kehrer, 52, of Canastota, and Tammy A. Goodwin, 55, of Eaton, tragically lost their lives in the incident. The police department expressed their condolences to the families and friends of the victims. The crash is still under investigation. An update will be provided as more details become available.
