Car accident near LGBTQ bars in San Jose ahead of Pride parade
A white Lexus driver crashed into pedestrian barriers in front of two LGBTQ+ San Jose nightclubs just before the city's Pride events were set to begin. Video footage captured the car with its front end facing Mac's Club downtown. Before that, the driver reportedly drove towards Splash San Jose, narrowly missing pedestrians. The driver and a passenger, both severely intoxicated, were taken to the hospital with injuries. San Jose police believe it was not intentional. Witnesses mentioned the driver's aggressive behavior after being denied entry to Splash. Nobody else was harmed, and despite the proximity to Pride celebrations, hate towards the LGBTQ+ community is not suspected. This incident was described as highly unusual by a Splash employee.
