Car accident causes major gas leak, forces evacuations
A truck crashed into a Loveland home early on Saturday, causing a significant gas leak and resulting in evacuations of nearby residences. Loveland Fire Rescue Authority confirmed that all individuals, including those in the house, were safe and were checked by paramedics at the scene. The incident occurred at the intersection of E. 23rd Street and Nyssa Court. Emergency crews took measures to contain the leak, which was initially out of control. Xcel Energy technicians effectively halted the gas leak by fixing the damaged line with a clamp, but the process required several hours. At present, it is unknown whether charges will be filed.
