Cancellation of 2025 dance festival at Jacob's Pillow due to fatal workplace accident
Jacob's Pillow, a renowned dance center in western Massachusetts, has halted the remainder of its summer festival following a tragic workplace incident that resulted in the death of production manager Kat Sirico. The center had initially planned to resume performances, but a recent decision by the Board of Trustees announced Tuesday night stated that Festival 2025 will not continue this year. The accident occurred when Sirico, 40, was moving staging platforms with a summer intern on a dolly, which they lost control of, causing the dolly to roll downhill. Despite efforts to prevent the accident, Sirico unfortunately passed away. The center expressed their condolences and refund arrangements are being made for those affected by the festival cancellations.
