Bus overturn in Antelope Valley results in multiple injuries

About 20 individuals were hurt in an accident when a bus flipped over near Lancaster on Wednesday. The incident occurred close to Sierra Highway and West Avenue C at approximately 11:25 a.m. A Kern Transit bus, which caters to the greater Bakersfield region and parts of the Antelope Valley, was observed overturned off the road by Sky5 footage. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the accident occurred, but the California Highway Patrol incident log indicates that the bus toppled over onto its side after going across railroad tracks. Aerial views displayed a nearby set of tracks parallel to Sierra Highway that need to be crossed to access Avenue C. The scene was attended by several ambulances and fire trucks, with traffic management handled by the CHP. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported that around 20 individuals were injured, with one person in a critical condition. The status of the other injured individuals is still being evaluated.
