Browns Hill Road changes following fatal motorcycle accident
Recent changes are being planned for Browns Hill Road near the Homestead Grays Bridge following a tragic motorcycle accident last month. The crash resulted in the death of Robert Brimage, 33, after colliding with another vehicle. In response, the City of Pittsburgh's Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team conducted a site visit to the crash location and will implement several adjustments to improve safety. One modification includes adjusting traffic lights at Imogene Road and Parkview Boulevard intersections to "revert to red" during late hours, responding to real-time conditions to deter speeding. Additionally, modifications to the signal rotations will aim to reduce rear-end collisions, with reflective plates enhancing nighttime visibility for drivers. Moreover, pedestrians at the Browns Hill Road and Imogene Road crosswalk will receive a 5-second head start. Though the timeline for these changes is uncertain, their implementation is expected soon.
