In Bradenton, a tragic accident occurred early on Monday morning when a motorcycle carrying two teenagers collided with a car, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy and leaving another teen in critical condition. The incident took place at 53rd Avenue East, where the motorcycle was heading east towards a red light while a Chevy sedan was traveling west and making a left turn onto Caruso Road with a green light. The 17-year-old motorcycle driver disregarded the red light, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, and crashed into the sedan. The impact threw both teens from the motorcycle, with the driver suffering critical injuries and the passenger tragically losing his life. The 52-year-old woman driving the sedan sustained minor injuries in the collision.
