
Boy killed, girl injured after crashing stolen food delivery car, police say
A boy was killed in a crash in a stolen food delivery vehicle early Wednesday morning in New Hampshire, according to Manchester police.At about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Manchester police said a food delivery driver told officers his 2014 Toyota Corolla had been stolen after he left it unattended for a short time on Clifford Avenue. About an hour later, a Manchester officer spotted the vehicle, which fled when the officer activated emergency lights and sirens. A pursuit was initiated and continued onto the highway, where it was terminated, and the officer lost sight of the vehicle. At around 2 a.m., New Hampshire State Police found the car in Bedford, where it had crashed. Police said the driver, a male juvenile, died at a hospital. A girl who was also in the car suffered serious injuries. The ages of the juveniles have not been released.The boy who was killed was a student at Southside Middle School in Manchester.Manchester Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel released a statement about the crash on behalf of the school district:"We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our students, and our thoughts are with those impacted by this motor vehicle accident. In addition to our school based counseling teams, we have brought in additional community resources and grief counselors that will be available at the school."We encourage parents and students to reach out to a member of the Southside team if you have any questions or would like to access these resources.
