Boy and mother from Delhi Township hospitalized after accident.
A 7-year-old boy and his mother from Delhi Township are currently in a critical condition at the intensive care unit following a serious accident on Columbia Parkway. The child, Michael Askins, was on the cusp of starting second grade this month. His great-grandmother, Sherrie McBreen, expressed shock and sorrow over the devastating incident. The crash occurred when Jonni Evans, a nurse driving with her son Michael in the car, collided on Columbia Parkway. Michael sustained head trauma and was unresponsive, requiring immediate CPR. Emergency surgery, including the removal of part of his small intestine, was performed at Children's Hospital to monitor his brain activity. Jonni sustained multiple injuries including a broken hip, knee, femur, shoulder, and arm, necessitating surgical rods. As the family grapples with the aftermath of the accident, they are requesting prayers and support. Despite the challenges ahead, a fundraiser has been set up to assist Michael and Jonni on their long road to recovery.
