Reports from state media indicate that 34 individuals lost their lives, with eight still missing. The vessel was on a sightseeing tour of Ha Long Bay, a renowned destination, with 48 passengers and five crew members, all Vietnamese. A distressing video capturing the moments before the accident has circulated widely. Rescue efforts led to the recovery of 11 survivors and the deceased near the incident location, while 23 individuals are yet to be found. Strong winds were cited as the cause of the boat overturning. Among those rescued was a 14-year-old boy, who was trapped in the capsized boat for four hours. Most passengers were tourists from Hanoi, including roughly 20 children.
