Two local men, Brad Kloepfer, 57, and Paul Selberg, 69, were killed after their boat, Lickity Split, flipped. The boat, traveling at speeds exceeding 150 mph, crashed in the South Basin near the Contact Point Water Safety Center. Kloepfer and Selberg were pulled from the water by Good Samaritan boats, while Kloepfer's wife, Connie, 58, was also rescued but in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, both Kloepfer and Selberg succumbed to their injuries at Havasu Regional Medical Center.
