Boat accident off Miami Beach results in 2 fatalities
Two individuals lost their lives and one person is not responding after a tragic boating incident involving a youth club in Miami Beach on Monday. Reports indicate that a barge crashed into a sailboat carrying six individuals near Star Island. The group on the sailboat, which included youth participants from the Miami Youth Sailing Foundation, was believed to have been struck during the incident. Among the six patients, five were children aged between 8 and 12, with the sixth being an adult thought to be a camp counselor. While three children were initially reported as being in critical condition, the latest update mentioned that one child and the adult are in stable condition, while the fifth child was evaluated at the scene. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is conducting an investigation into the accident, and more details will be provided as they become available.
