Bazetta man sentenced for causing deadly multi-car collision

A 19-year-old man from Bazetta, Anthony Marble-Salem, was recently sentenced for causing a fatal chain-reaction crash on state Route 5 that resulted in the death of a driver last year. Marble-Salem, who was driving a 2021 Audi A7, rear-ended a car that was stopped at a red light, leading to a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles. Nicholas Stoian, 38, unfortunately lost his life in the crash. Marble-Salem was found to have been distracted by an electronic device and following too closely. As a result, he pleaded guilty to a vehicular homicide charge in court and received a 180-day jail sentence, with the majority of days being suspended. He can opt to perform 200 hours of community service instead of serving the remaining days in jail, and will be on probation for two years. Additionally, his license is suspended until Aug. 18, 2026.
