Baby survives deadly I-85 crash that claimed the lives of two adults on Thursday evening
Two individuals lost their lives in a collision involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 in Fulton County late on Thursday night, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The incident occurred near Senoia Road around 11:03 p.m. Investigators determined that a white tractor-trailer and a black Hyundai Sonata were traveling in the second lane from the median when the truck slowed for traffic and was rear-ended by the Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai, Derrick Anthony Epps, and the front-seat passenger, Ka'Mia Sh'Mashira Frazier, were tragically killed. Fortunately, a 7-month-old child in the back seat, who was properly secured, appeared unhurt and was taken to Arthur Blank Children's Hospital for evaluation as a precaution by Grady EMS. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed in the crash. Following the collision, I-85 North had to be shut down for approximately two and a half hours before being reopened for traffic.
