Authorities search for truck driver after fatal motorcycle accident in Woodstock, ME

A man has passed away and a woman is hospitalized with serious injuries following a motorcycle accident in Woodstock on Sunday. Police are seeking a vehicle linked to the incident. The crash occurred around 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Main Street and Route 232. According to the Oxford County Sheriff's Office, the man driving the motorcycle, aged 60 from Oxford, was receiving CPR from a bystander upon emergency crews' arrival. Unfortunately, he later died in the hospital. The female passenger, aged 50 from Oxford, sustained significant injuries and is hospitalized. Authorities report that the crash involved a group of motorcycles traveling together. Witnesses mentioned that as the group was ascending a hill with a slow-traffic lane, the leading motorcycle attempted to overtake a grey diesel-powered GM pickup truck. Yet, the truck allegedly swerved abruptly, causing the motorcycle to lose control and crash into a wooded area while the pickup truck drove away. The truck was last spotted heading south on Route 26. Surveillance footage of the truck has been obtained, and the public is encouraged to contact the Oxford County Sheriff's Office at 207-743-9554 with any information or sightings related to the truck or its driver.
