Authorities investigating crash that resulted in woman's death and two injuries
A 23-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a crash that occurred in Redford Township on Thursday night. Two other individuals were injured and taken to the hospital as a result, one being the male driver of a Chevrolet Trax involved in the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene at around 6:45 p.m. to find a bystander administering CPR to the woman seated in the front of the Chevrolet. Despite efforts, she later passed away at the hospital. The crash was caused by a motorist driving a gray Cadillac who ran a red light at the Grantland Street intersection, veering into northbound lanes on Inkster Road and colliding with the Chevrolet. Fortunately, the Cadillac driver sustained only minor injuries. Authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the incident and are currently investigating the crash.
